There has been speculation about Kyrie Irving’s departure from the Dallas Mavericks ever since he was acquired by the team. The focus of the NBA has shifted to Damian Lillard and his exit.

Please do not blame us for anything. There is a history of Irving leaving teams in the past. What makes the Mavericks an exception to this rule? 

Irving and the Mavericks have officially agreed to an extension of their contract. As far as Dallas was concerned, this was the most important task of the summer. 

There were other things to do as well. There is still a need for the Mavericks to upgrade their roster around Irving and Luka Doncic.
