That being said, it is important to note that we do not only have expectations for teams. It is also necessary for us to have expectations about players in a given season as well. 

Sometimes, they aren’t fair. If you expect starter-level production from someone over 35, for example, you are taking a gamble.

It is possible for someone to lose their edge even if they looked like a starter in the previous season. As an example, let’s take Lowry as an example.

It was expected that his game would age well. Until a certain point, it did up to a certain extent. As a matter of fact, Lowry is still one of the best rotational point guards in the league.

As a starter, he is no longer a viable option. Is there anyone who could blame him for that? Lowry is 36 years old.

With that in mind, it’s worth asking a question: Should the Clippers really acquire him?
