Jonathan Kuminga

The argument will be made that we are stretching the definition of a “star” a bit thin in this case. In a sense, that’s the point.

Jonathan Kuminga has already played two seasons in the NBA. In comparison to some of his peers in the draft, he hasn’t shown much in terms of the ability to be a star. There is no doubt that Kuminga should not be blamed for this at all.

As far as stardom is concerned, the Golden State Warriors have not put him on the right path. The question is, how could they possibly have done that? This is a team that has been competing for the title of NBA champion since a long time ago.

It has not been possible for them to prioritize Kuminga’s development as they should. There are some other teams that would be happy to do just that.

It is fair to say that Kuminga has the physical profile and athletic tools of a two-way wing of elite quality. The Warriors should find a team who’s willing to use them this summer.
