Small forward Harrison Barnes could re-sign with Sacramento Kings this summer, according to NBA insider Carmichael Dave. Barnes becomes an unrestricted free agent on June 30.

Barnes averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.6 assists this past season for the Kings while shooting 47.3% from the field, 37.4% from beyond the arc and 84.7% from the free-throw line. The Kings won 48 games and made the playoffs for the first time since 2006.

Even though Sacramento lost to the Golden State Warriors in the first round of the 2023 postseason in seven games, the franchise has a bright future with Domantas Sabonis, De’Aaron Fox, Keegan Murray, Malik Monk and Kevin Huerter leading the way and it appears Barnes could be back in the mix.

The 31-year-old Barnes has career averages of 14.2 points, 5.0 rebounds and 1.8 assists with the Warriors, Dallas Mavericks and Kings. He won the 2015 championship with the Warriors over the Cleveland Cavaliers in six games. Barnes also played in the 2016 Finals.

NBA NEWS & RUMORS: Harrison Barnes & Sacramento Kings Updates

Along with going back to the Kings, Barnes has been linked to the Indiana Pacers, who are coached by Rick Carlisle. Barnes was coached by Carlisle in Dallas and the veteran played with Pacers All-Star point guard Tyrese Haliburton and shooting guard Buddy Hield in Sacramento.

It will certainly be interesting to see if Barnes leaves the Kings for the Pacers, who play in a small market, Indiana. The Pacers may offer Barnes more money to steal him from the Kings, who can’t overpay to keep the Iowa native since they may sign Sabonis to a massive extension this summer.
