During an interview with Malika Andrews of ESPN on “NBA Today,” Chris Paul talked about playing for the Golden State Warriors and with Stephen Curry.
Paul has had a rivalry with Curry and the Warriors for the last 10 years or so, but the Wake Forest product is ready to put his past behind him and looking forward to playing in Golden State with the NBA’s all-time leader in 3-pointers.
“We’ve known each other for a very, very long time, man,” Paul told Andrews of Curry. “So I’m excited to get a chance to play alongside him, Klay [Thompson], [Andrew Wiggins], Draymond [Green], all of them. They’ve got an unbelievable organization. That team is just — they’ve been playing together for a while, and they know what they’re doing.”
The Warriors have won four championships in the Curry-Klay Thompson-Draymond Green era. Paul’s Houston Rockets lost to the Dubs in the 2018 Western Conference Finals in seven games. CP3 got hurt in Game 5 and missed Games 6 and 7.

The Rockets also lost to the Warriors in the 2019 Western Conference Semifinals.
In 2018, Paul’s fake laugh at Warriors head coach Steve Kerr went viral. Most recently, Curry told Paul, “This ain’t 2014 no more” during a matchup against the Phoenix Suns in March. Paul has a lot of history with Curry and the Warriors, but the “Point God” is only focused on winning.
“It’s always a new process when you’re going to a new team. I’ve done it a number of times now, but I’m definitely excited about this because these guys know what it’s all about,” Paul said. “They’ve been there. They’ve won over and over again. So I’m glad to be a part of that process.”
