This deal features two teams who didn’t have especially significant draft nights. In fact, the New York Knicks didn’t even have a first-round pick. 

The Los Angeles Clippers did. They picked 30th overall. Of course, that all makes sense. Both of these teams are more focused on the present than the future. 

With that said, the Clippers may want to redirect their focus. This team has been falling short of expectations for years.

By now, they must be feeling discouraged about Kawhi Leonard and Paul George’s combined ability to stay healthy.
