The NBA Draft has come and gone. All of the rumors around the event have been settled – one way or another. There was plenty of smoke. Some of it didn’t result in any fire. There were certain rumors that did not come to fruition.
The New Orleans Pelicans were at the center of plenty of them. This team was going to trade Zion Williamson to the Portland Trail Blazers – or, was it Brandon Ingram to the Charlotte Hornets?
It was neither. Still, don’t rule out the possibility that the Pelicans could make a big splash this summer. They didn’t make a trade on draft night, but that doesn’t mean that they won’t make a trade.
Something to consider, Christian Clark of NOLA.com reported about there being alleged frustrations about Ingram being unwilling to play through minor injuries in recent years. He only played in 45 games last season and has missed 62 of 164 possible games in his last two campaigns.
“Ingram has sometimes seemed unwilling to play through minor discomfort, to the point where some of his teammates have become frustrated with him over the past two years,” Clark wrote.

At some point, could the Pelicans decide to move on from Ingram to build with a different cast of star talent? Their confidence level may surface soon, given he’s eligible to sign a three-year contract extension beginning this offseason.
