There is no place like home. Just ask an NBA player. These guys rarely get home. A life in the National Basketball Association is a life on the road. We’re not shedding tears for the league’s players. They’re living their dreams.
Still, any opportunity to get home is a golden one for these guys. For that reason, some players love to play in their home city. In fact, it’s felt like DeMar DeRozan of the Chicago Bulls has longed for home for a while.
DeRozan has been linked to both the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers at times in his career. He even recently talked about playing for a team in his hometown during an appearance on Paul George’s “Podcast P” show.
“I used to think like, man I gotta play home so I could see what it’s like,” DeRozan said. “It’s like I get it from both ways now. From home, and I’m able to represent home from where I’m playing. I’m at a stage now where I’m okay now if I don’t. It’s not like an ultimate desire of mine.”
