The Boston Celtics are expected to make some changes to their guard depth this NBA offseason. A trade to move one of their veterans is basically expected at this point.

Contrary to popular belief, the Celtics don’t need to make any major changes this summer. This team made the NBA Finals two years ago.

They made the Conference Finals this season. All told this young group has had considerable success in recent years. 

They could stand to make some minor ones. The Celtics have run into the same limitations in each year’s postseason. Their lack of ball handling has been problematic. 

It’s not that Boston doesn’t have guard depth. They have plenty. On the other hand, most of the guards they roster are combo guards.

With that in mind, don’t be surprised if they move one of those combo guards this summer.
