The NBA Draft is an exciting time for teams, players, and fans. While many are focused on draft prospects, it can be a significant opportunity to make a trade for a veteran.

People place different values on NBA prospects. Some people love them, while others are weary. That’s understandable. Prospects are unknown quantities. We’ve all seen too many busts in our lifetime to be completely confident in anyone. 

On the other hand, the potential can be enticing. Moreover, there are benefits in drafting a prospect. A player on a rookie contract is cost controlled for quite some time. That gives teams an opportunity to rebuild around them.
