After being bought out by the Cleveland Cavaliers this season, Kevin Love found himself on the Miami Heat to close out the regular season. Choosing this squad ended up being the right choice as they managed to work their way to the NBA Finals.
Coming off an NBA Finals run, Love is sure to have a market form in free agency this summer. As a former champion, contenders will be looking to add his experience. One team that could express interest in him is the Golden State Warriors.
“Golden State will need to search for additional help who will agree to play for the veteran’s minimum, selling players on the chance to win a championship instead of cashing in elsewhere,” Swartz wrote. “This means vets who are nearing the end of their careers but can still play postseason minutes when called upon. Players like Green, Love and Hill would all fit this bill, if they’re willing to take a pay cut, of course.”

Golden State is fresh off a playoff run that saw them fall to LeBron James and the LA Lakers. Their championship defense might not have gone how they wanted, but the organization still feels like they are in a position to add more titles to their dynasty.
For around the veteran’s minimum, Love can be a big addition for Golden State. He fits into their pass-heavy offensive system and can be a reliable backup center option. On top of that, he could also play alongside Kevon Looney in the frontcourt with his ability to space the floor.

In the 20 playoff games he appeared in this season, Love averaged 6.9 PPG and 5.6 RPG while shooting 37.5% from beyond the arc. If the Warriors are able to acquire him this summer, he can solidify their second unit while bringing more championship experience.
