The Lakers are getting the best player in this deal. That’s all we really need to say. 

Washington is an outstanding role player. We already touched on his defensive versatility. Washington can play the 5 in small ball lines. 

His floor spacing makes him especially valuable in those positions. Meanwhile, the Lakers could use some spacing. That’s something they’ve lacked in recent years. 

Washington feels like the perfect role player to pair with LeBron James. This would be a meaningful addition to the Lakers’ roster next season.
