After getting back to the NBA playoffs this year, the New York Knicks are sure to be very active this summer. The addition of Jalen Brunson has been huge, and now the front office needs to continue to bring players who can help elevate the roster.

In today’s NBA, teams can never have enough shooting. Throughout his career, Seth Curry has been one of the most efficient three-point marksmen in the league. After spending the past year and a half with the Brooklyn Nets, rumors have begun to emerge that he could be on his way to the other team in New York.

As the playoffs continue, Grant Hughes of Bleacher Report touched on targets this summer for teams that have already been eliminated. While discussing the Knicks, Curry was one of the first names mentioned.

“Options abound, and the Knicks should have their full midlevel exception to offer,” Hughes wrote. “Brooklyn Nets free agent Seth Curry and his career 40.5 percent mark from three, which ranks fifth among players with at least 1,500 attempts, would be a logical cross-borough signing.”

Curry was sent to Brooklyn in the James Harden-Ben Simmons swap two years ago and saw his role slowly decline since. This season, he played his lowest minutes per game since 2018.

There are certainly some defensive concerns with Curry being a small guard, but he does fit with the Knicks. New York was in the back half of the league in three-point percentage last year, making it a clear area they can improve in.

Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle both like to work in the mid-range. To maximize that, the Knicks need proper spacing on the outside. Curry can not only be a reliable kick-out option but he’s proven he can put the ball on the floor and create as well.

The veteran guard is sure to garner a lot of interest this summer, and it might be worth it for the Knicks to make a call.
