Why The New Orleans Pelicans Do The Deal 

Anyone that’s watching Portland is also watching the Charlotte Hornets. 

After all, they’ve got the second-overall pick in the same draft. While most analysts would likely use that pick on Scoot Henderson, the Hornets would seemingly prefer to pair LaMelo Ball with Brandon Miller. 

If so, this is a no-brainer for the Pelicans. They’ll be landing Scoot Henderson. That gives them one of the best point guard prospects we’ve seen in years.

If Williamson can stay healthy, they’ll be the cornerstones of a contending team.

On the other hand, even flipping Ingram for Miller could be sensible. Miller will be cost-controlled. Meanwhile, the Pelicans are also landing Anfernee Simons here.

They’ll suddenly have a deeper, younger roster to put around Williamson. 

Should the Blazers help them do that?
