They say it’s better to be late than to never show up. Sure. On the other hand, it’s best to be on time. With that said, the most important thing is getting there in the first place. The same applies in the NBA.
With that in mind, we’ve been suggesting that the Los Angeles Lakers trade for Bojan Bogdanovic of the Detroit Pistons for some time.
The idea of the move made sense before. We think it still makes sense now. After all, the Lakers still need spacing. LeBron James is still maximized with elite shooters around him.
There is more shot-creation upside and playmaking from Bogdanovic than the Lakers may find from a typical shooter. It would add quite a few dimensions to the team.
Meanwhile, the Detroit Pistons are still rebuilding. They would be best positioned to move on from an older veteran player in order to recoup some value.
