We think so. If there’s anything awkward about this deal, it’s the inclusion of Adams.
Frankly, he’s only here to make the money work. The Raptors are expected to retain Jakob Poeltl in free agency. That’s fine. They could showcase Adams to contenders and flip him by the trade deadline.
For the Raptors, this boils down to Jones, Williams, and the draft capital. Jones is already a proven, steady contributor. Still, he’s young enough to be the Raptors’ point guard of the future.

On the other hand, Williams has a lot of upside. He’s struggled to find a role on the Grizzlies, but these newly rebuilding Raptors should find him one.
