Yes. The Hornets are currently torn. Most NBA fans want them to select Scoot Henderson with the second overall pick. Yet, the organization seems to be leaning toward Brandon Miller. 

That’s understandable. Henderson may be the better prospect, but Miller is quite appealing in his own right. Meanwhile, Henderson plays the same position as Ball.

By contrast, Poole is more of a scorer. If the Hornets selected Miller and made this deal, they’d assemble their backcourt of the future and land their new starting small forward.

Meanwhile, taking a gamble on Kuminga is quite the bonus in its own right.
