Why The Boston Celtics Do The Deal 

The Celtics could justify this in a couple of ways. Firstly, and perhaps most importantly, we’re assuming Brown isn’t happy in Boston.

In that event, they can’t offer him a massive extension. Brown would be too likely to request a trade after signing. 

Moreover, perhaps Boston needs a point guard more than they need another wing. After all, Jayson Tatum is their best player. This could be a more logical pairing for them.
