Trade value is a finicky thing in the NBA. It can decrease at the drop of a dime.
Injuries can especially impact value. Once a player is hurt often enough, their value will decrease.
No matter how talented a player is, teams won’t give up as much for him if he’s always hurt.
That’s unfortunate for the Los Angeles Clippers. Kawhi Leonard is hurt on a regular basis. By now, his trade value has meaningfully declined.
Would anyone even take a risk on him? You bet. When healthy, Leonard is one of the best players in the NBA. A team may recognize an opportunity to buy low on the dynamic two-way forward.
Could the Miami Heat take advantage of that opportunity?
