Why The Utah Jazz Do The Deal
Well, every starter needs a backup. Defensively, Kessler is already what Bamba was supposed to be.
Perhaps he doesn’t have the same instincts. Either way, Kessler is the superior rim protector and should start following this deal.
With that said, Bamba does space the floor. If nothing else, he’d give the Jazz a different dynamic they can put on the floor.

If Bamba has a breakout season, the Jazz may have two starting caliber big men following this deal.
That’s fine. The Jazz can simply move one of them. Throw in a distant pick swap, and this should be a deal worth making for Utah.
