To reiterate: nobody should be avoiding success. Keeping the bar low is never ideal. 

That’s especially true in the NBA. Sure, nobody expects anything out of a team that consistently fails to succeed. With that said, no team wants to consistently fail. 

Just look at the Wizards. Every acquisition this team makes is met with an eye roll. It feels inevitable that they’ll barely make, or barely miss the playoffs regardless. 

By now, it seems apparent that Bradley Beal can’t be the best player on a serious contender. Everyone else has accepted that reality.
