As of this writing, the order of the draft lottery will be announced in the evening. It could render this entire deal moot. 

If the Dallas Mavericks jump in the lottery, they won’t make this deal. For argument’s sake, let’s assume they land at 10th overall — the most statistically probable outcome.

In that event, a defensive big man like Ayton would be fair compensation in a trade. 

Meanwhile, Ayton’s time in Phoenix appears to be done. The Phoenix Suns should replace him in free agency at cost and flip him for a guard who can pressure the rim. Rozier fits the description.
