We are saying that they don’t need him. The Heat vanquished the Milwaukee Bucks without Herro. That’s enough to tell us that this team can thrive in his absence. 

So, why not trade him to bolster their depth? The Heat have rostered Olynyk before. They know they’re getting floor spacing, playmaking, and hustle from the combo big.

Meanwhile, Clarkson can replicate some of Herro’s production. Still, getting a first-rounder is key here too.

The Heat are low on draft capital. Replenishing their cupboard to any extent would be a wise decision this summer.
