Why The Los Angeles Lakers Do The Deal 

Of course, it’s been a while since those Heat teams were assembled. The rest of the league has caught up to those strategic changes. 

That includes the Lakers. This team already has the capacity to run lineups with five-out spacing. With that in mind, they’re not directly replacing those Heat teams there. 

In simple terms, they’re just improving the spacing around James. Beasley is a fine shooter, but Robinson is a better one. There isn’t much to see here. 

Moreover, his elite shooting could allow the Lakers to lean on Jarred Vanderbilt more frequently. He’s an excellent defender who doesn’t space the floor.

With a shooter like Robinson on the floor, that becomes a moot point.
