On Sunday, the Philadelphia 76ers enter a defining moment during their Game 7 matchup against Jayson Tatum’s Boston Celtics at TD Garden. There is no excuse to come up short with NBA MVP Joel Embiid leading the charge.
If the Sixers win, there would be little reason to shake things up too much. The team would have overcome losing two consecutive playoff games and shown resolve by winning a Game 7 on the road.
With a chance to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, failing to win surely will cause heads to roll this summer. The first order of business would be to fire Doc Rivers, who would have blown yet another 3-1 series lead despite having a prime chance to end it in Game 6.
Moreover, it is possible that James Harden will leave this team in the event of another early exit. There has been a great deal of speculation that he might be considering leaving the team to return to the Houston Rockets.
There is a possibility that this may or may not happen. If it does happen, the Sixers will need to do what they can to replace him with an adequate co-star for Embiid.
Is it possible for the Sixers to trade for Damian Lillard in such a situation?
