Shooting. Some will say it’s the most valuable skill in the NBA. It’s certainly the most fundamental one.
Go watch a pickup game between amateurs who lack NBA athleticism. In all likelihood, you’re going to see a lot of jump shots.
Of course, shooting is paramount in the NBA, too. Just ask the Los Angeles Lakers. This team was having a disappointing season until they acquired some shooting at the trade deadline.
Now, they’re a game away from the Western Conference Finals.
With that said, don’t underestimate the value of defense. In all likelihood, the Lakers could use a wing that provides both shooting and defense.
Would Dorian Finney-Smith of the Brooklyn Nets suffice?
