The Houston Rockets have a lot of needs. This has been one of the worst teams in the NBA for several seasons.
Next year, they ought to satisfy some of those needs. The Rockets have more cap space than any team in the NBA. They’ll have a lottery pick, too. The question is, what does this team need the most?
Some will say a point guard. Perhaps. Kevin Porter Jr. may not be the long-term answer here. On the other hand, some will say that the Rockets need defense above all else.
That may start with a defensive big man. Alperen Sengun has plenty of offensive potential, but preventing points is not his strong suit.
The Rockets may want another young big to add to their platoon that specializes in that area.
Could they target Onyeka Okongwu of the Atlanta Hawks?
