Portland Trail Blazers
Of course, this all begs a question. What is holding Wood back from landing a starting role in the NBA?
Frankly, it’s defense. Wood is too thin to defend at the five routinely, but he’s not mobile enough to defend at the four. His effort wanes as well. By now, this looks like a reserve in the NBA.
Still, any team in need of frontcourt spacing should be interested. Wood can function as a stretch-five for spells and significantly improve a team’s offense. The Portland Trail Blazers could badly use a player like that.
He shouldn’t be their only acquisition this summer. If the Blazers intend on getting back to contention, a summer where they simply added Christian Wood would be a disappointment.

Still, in tandem with other moves, this would give Portland the stretch-five they don’t currently roster.
This next team could use such a player as well.
