Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal 

It’s hard to say what the Bulls will do this summer. After all, this team fell well short of expectations in 2022-23. Some have suggested that they could have a fire sale this summer.

Zach LaVine and DeMar DeRozan could both be heading for new NBA homes this offseason.

This feels like a sensible move either way. If the Bulls are rebuilding, flipping Caruso for the younger Bamba and a distant, lightly protected first-round pick would be wise. 

On the other hand, even if the Bulls would prefer to retool, this is interesting. They may find that they’re more successful with a rim protector like Bamba on the interior.

If they’re not, at least they’re getting some draft capital for their troubles.
