For the Magic, this depends on where they land in the lottery. They wouldn’t trade Victor Wembanyama for Trae Young. That’s obvious.

Moreover, the Magic shouldn’t trade the rights to draft Scoot Henderson or Brandon Miller for Young, either. On the other hand, any pick outside of the top 3 may be up for grabs.

If so, the Magic might as well target Young. This team could use a point guard, and Young is among the league’s best. Following this deal, the Magic would have a core.

Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner and Young would be this team’s star trio. Everyone else would have to fit alongside them.
