Why The Brooklyn Nets Do The Deal 

The Heat may not have needed Herro against the Bucks. On the other hand, the Nets could surely have used him against the Philadelphia 76ers in the first round of these playoffs. 

That’s not to say that they would have won the series. That feels unlikely. The Sixers roster the presumptive MVP, a former winner of the award, and Tyrese Maxey. 

Still, the Nets were sorely lacking halfcourt creation in that series. Mikal Bridges can carry some weight. Still, if he’s your best (and only) shot creator, your championship odds will begin to look slim. 

So, for the Nets, this is all about adding a shot creator. In all likelihood, Herro and Bridges would have a bit of a 1 and 1A dynamic on offense.
