It is expected that if the Blazers do make this deal, it won’t be the only move they make during the summer. 

There is a very high probability that this would happen in conjunction with a trade for Damian Lillard. In this case, the deal would be part of the process of finally admitting that this franchise needs to be rebuilt. 

There is no doubt that the Blazers are unlikely to be a serious contender. There is no denying that Lillard is getting older. There is a good chance that they should trade him. As long as they’re doing it, then they might as well get value for Grant as well. 

That’s exactly what they’re doing here. Basically, the Blazers are bringing in two big men with a lot of potential to their team.

Even if you throw in a future pick swap, it’s still a good deal, given that this is a sign-and-trade deal. At the very least, it should be able to meet the needs of this team.
