The Indiana Pacers were supposed to trade Myles Turner this NBA season.
After all, Turner has been the subject of trade rumors for ages. His departure from Indiana seemed inevitable. It was only a matter of what the Pacers would receive.
It didn’t happen. Instead, the Pacers extended Turner.
Surely, that signals a long-term commitment to the stretch big man, right?
Not necessarily. Perhaps the Pacers are fixed on keeping Turner. On the other hand, they may have extended Turner because he’d have more trade value on a long-term contract.
Could they send him to the Los Angeles Clippers this summer?
