Why The Dallas Mavericks Do The Deal 

The discerning fan will have a question here. If Hunter is ideal for Doncic, why would the Hawks move him with the similar Young on their roster? 

Here’s the reality: Doncic is better than Young. Like it or not, that’s a fact. Dallas doesn’t have to have as high of a standard in building around him. 

With that in mind, Hunter has not had the perfect start to his NBA career. In theory, he’s a 3-and-D wing. In practice, his shooting and defense are both inconsistent. 

Still, he’s a major upgrade over anybody currently on the roster. Josh Green plays with tremendous effort, but his 6’5 height can be a limitation.
