Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal 

The Bulls haven’t historically made a habit of tanking, either. They may want to change that. 

There’s quite a difference between the 7th seed and the 10th. The Heat had a mediocre season, but the Bulls have had an outright poor one. 

It’s time to start over. At the same time, this deal doesn’t have the Bulls completely tanking. Herro may be a downgrade from LaVine, but he’s a productive NBA player. 

He’s also five years younger. That’s the main purpose of this deal for the Bulls. Still, they also deserve some draft capital.

They’re getting one pick for the win-now downgrade, and another swap for taking on Robinson’s deal. 

Even if it likely moves them out of the play-in picture next season.
