Why The Golden State Warriors Do The Deal
Unfortunately, money is part of the NBA. The Warriors have primarily financial motives to do this deal.
After all, Wiggins is on a long-term contract. Bamba and Beasley will both be expiring deals. This is an opportunity to clean up their books.
On the other hand, if Bamba is going to thrive in the NBA, he’ll do it in Golden State. It would be interesting to see a player with his profile in their system. Meanwhile, Beasley is a strong movement shooter and athlete.
Even then, the Warriors get a pick swap here. They may be looking to dump Wiggins’ contract, but since he’s on a good contract, they’re getting a lot of value in the process of doing it.
