The low post was the centerpiece of any NBA offenses. Even teams that were built around a guard or a wing would usually get their big man a post touch in an average possession.
It was best to see if you could get anything there. What was once the most popular possession in basketball is now arguably the least. With that said, non-shooting bigs can still find their way into the league.
