Family. Lifelong friendship. For some, civic pride is a similar bond. They will represent their city no matter where they go.
For example, look at Houston Rockets General Manager Rafael Stone. He’s from Seattle. So are Rockets Kevin Porter Jr. and Tari Eason.
We’re not saying Stone targets Seattle natives. Eason was a great draft choice, and the Cleveland Cavaliers traded Porter Jr. to Houston for a bag of chips.
Still, one wonders if Stone enjoys acquiring players from his hometown.
