For a long time, the superteam era was in full effect in the NBA.
Teams around the league were in the midst of an arms race. You weren’t going to win a championship with two-star players. You needed three to run with the big dogs.
Somewhere along the line, that changed. There is more parity in the NBA now than there has been in a long time – if ever.
At the same time, trends tend to be cyclical. Teams with two stars will surely have some interest in landing a third.
In time, we’re likely to see a team do exactly that.
