Let’s be clear on one thing. This is roughly a lateral move for both of these teams.
Brown is a better half-court scorer than Siakam. Siakam is a better defender and playmaker than Brown. All told these are two players in a similar tier.
With that in mind, the Celtics shouldn’t do this if Brown doesn’t want out. They ought to retain the chemistry of the core who went to the NBA Finals last season.
On the other hand: who are we kidding? Brown wants out. If the Raptors want him, the Celtics should inquire about flipping him for Siakam.
