That’s not to say they should regret assembling Kevin Durant, James Harden and Kyrie Irving on the same team. They shouldn’t. That was the best chance the Nets had at winning an NBA championship. 

They may regret moving Harden for Ben Simmons. So far, that deal has looked like a disaster. Simmons is out of the team’s rotation, while Harden remains a star player. 

Did that decision lead to the ultimate departure of Durant and Irving? It’s hard to say. With that said, we’re sure it didn’t entice them to stick around.
