Why The Houston Rockets Do The Deal 

Of course, the Rockets haven’t minded being at the bottom of the standings for the last three years. This team has been tanking to maximize their lottery odds. 

Next season, they won’t have that luxury. The Rockets owe their next first-round pick to the Oklahoma City Thunder with top-4 protection. In all likelihood, they won’t care to play those odds. 

With that in mind, Houston is likely to look to take a big step forward next season. Acquiring a new point guard should be part of the plan. If, as rumored, James Harden returns, they won’t be interested in Suggs. 

If they draft Scoot Henderson, the same holds true. On the other hand, if neither of those things happens, Suggs would be a sensible option.

Although he’s flawed as a scorer, this is a young player with great floor vision and lockdown defence. Those are each skills that would complement Jalen Green.
