Positions in the NBA used to come with clear responsibilities. There was no ambiguity about what a player had to do to fulfil their duties.
For example, a point guard’s job was to distribute to teammates. They were the floor general. With that said, many of today’s point guards are capable of generating their own offense.
With that in mind, Kevin Porter Jr. of the Houston Rockets may or may not be a point guard.
With that said, as the team closes out a third consecutive season near the bottom of the standings, it’s beginning to feel like it’s not the role for him.
On the other hand, Jalen Suggs of the Orlando Magic certainly distributes like a point guard. He simply struggles to create his own offense.
Could the Rockets acquire him this summer anyway?
