Why The Boston Celtics Do The Deal 

The Celtics are trading the best player in this deal. By that logic, some will say they’re losing it automatically. 

Perhaps. On the other hand, Jamal Murray is no slouch. This is a strong primary ball-handler who can create his own shot out of thin air. 

In fact, the Celtics could use such a player. Malcolm Brogdon and Derrick White are both very good NBA players.

On the other hand, neither is nearly as dynamic of a player as Murray.

Meanwhile, the Celtics are getting a first-round pick for downgrading their roster. All told, this is a good move if Brown is due for departure anyway.
