Here’s a question: when was the last time the Miami Heat were accumulating assets?

We can’t remember it. When LeBron James skipped down, many expected the Heat to rebuild. Instead, they remained competitive with Chris Bosh and Dewayne Wade on the roster. 

Until Bosh’s career was cut short by injuries, that is. Still, the Heat never moved all of their best players for a bunch of draft picks. They insisted on staying competitive. 

Eventually, they attracted Jimmy Butler in free agency. That move, along with having hit on their draft picks, has kept the Heat relevant.

With that said, in 2022-23, they’re on the outside in looking at the title race.
