Why The Chicago Bulls Do The Deal 

This is not the route many are expecting the Bulls to travel this summer. After a disappointing season, many would suggest they should be collecting first-round picks, not trading them. 

Sure. On the other hand, the Bulls may not be as far from competing as they appear. With an alteration or two, they could be a much different team. 

One of those alterations would be to bring in a rim protector. Robinson is one of the best in the league. He’s also developed into the type of big man that can defend in space. 

Moreover, the Bulls probably could offer him a larger offensive role. They’d presumably be letting Nikola Vucevic walk in free agency to bring in Robinson.

That should free up a couple of post touches for Robinson on a nightly basis.
