The Nuggets are a contender getting the best player in a trade. That’s all there is to this from their perspective. 

Make no mistake – that’s exactly what Bridges is here. This is one of the best 3-and-D wings in the NBA. The shot creation he’s displayed in Brooklyn only makes him a hotter commodity. 

He also happens to be exactly the type of player the Nuggets need. Nikola Jokic may be the best offensive player in the NBA, but he has defensive limitations. Bridges helps offset them. 

So does O’Neale, for that matter. All told, this deal should put the Nuggets in the best possible position they can be in to win a title next year if they can’t accomplish that goal this season.
