Typically, NBA teams try to avoid logjams. That’s when they’ve got too many decent players at a certain position.
For example, you can’t play three quality big men for enough minutes. In the modern NBA, you can hardly play two.
That’s a dilemma the Atlanta Hawks are currently dealing with. Clint Capela has rightfully had the starting position for a long time.
On the other hand, Onyeka Onkongwu is deserving of a larger role as well.
With that in mind, one wouldn’t expect the Hawks to acquire another big man – unless they were moving one of Capela or Onkongwu, that is.
