Miami Heat Receive: F OG Anunoby, F/C Chris Boucher
Toronto Raptors Receive: G Tyler Herro
Of course, the Raptors aren’t the only team to double down on a skillset before.
We’ve seen teams where if you can’t shoot, you won’t play. The San Antonio Spurs of old built a dynasty by strictly employing good passers. The Raptors aren’t the first team to take this approach.
There’s merit in the approach as well. Again, this is a way to get an edge. If you’ve got the most defensive wings in the league, you can overwhelm opponents with defensive wings.
It just hasn’t worked for the Raptors this season. This team’s half-court offense has been anemic.
