Why The Charlotte Hornets Do The Deal 

For the Hornets, this deal would depend on who they’re drafting.

If they win the Wembanyama sweepstakes, they won’t be interested in Adebayo. Meanwhile, if they draft Amen Thompson, they may have some concerns about the lack of spacing in their core group following this deal. 

Let’s assume they draft, say, Brandon Miller, Cam Whitmore or Nick Smith Jr. In doing so, the Hornets will have an exciting young core. It will be time for them to transition into winning basketball. 

Who could help them more than Adebayo? This is one of the most versatile defensive bigs in the NBA. He’s also one of the league’s best playmaking big men.
